"A recipe from a National Supermarket chain as part of feed your family (based on 4 serves) dinner for $10 or less (that is aussie dollars and based on local prices for produce or chain specials at time of publication. Times are estimated. Though recipes recommends 500 grams of spaghetti I would only use about 350 grams for us and serve with a side salad of greens, tomatoes etc. Since posting I have made but for dietary reasons used spring/green onion instead of regular onion and used freshly made pasta otherwise made as per recipe. Have since made this but due to dietary needs had to use spring/green onion for the regular otherwise made as per recipe but feel it needs more flavour as we felt it was rather bland so will be playing with it a little but on this occasion we served it with fresh made linguine instead of dried pasta. Since making this the DH and I thought it a little bland and not as saucy as we would like so have doubled the garlic and added basil and cheese to garnish."

Made for the FYC Tag Game - I agree w/you that this is best if served w/a sml green salad & prob a bit of garlic bread for both extra flavor & textures. It's ingredient-friendly, family-friendly, "wallet-friendly, better on day 2 like most spaghetti & generic enough to easily allow for adding mushrooms, black olives, etc. I used roasted garlic, doubled the recipe amt since it's so mild & also added mushrooms. All in all, a good recipe Pat. Thx for sharing it w/us (A pic will post later today).
