Step by Step Method
Step 1
In medium skillet (with lid), melt the butter or margarine over medium heat. Add rice and pasta and cook, stirring, until lightly browned, around 3 minutes.
Step 2
Add onion soup mix, garlic powder, water and broth to skillet. Bring to a simmer and cover.
Step 3
Simmer on low heat, covered, approximately 20 minutes, or until water is absorbed and rice is tender. If necessary, add more water and continue simmering until rice is tender.
Step 4
Season with pepper.
