"From an old newspaper clipping, it says sweet and gooey, I didn't find it to be that way myself , but I cooked it longer because I don't like raw cake, it smells amazing while baking"

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Cream the sugar and shortening together, beat in egg.
Step 2
Sift flour and baking powder together, add alternately with milk.
Step 3
Add flavorings. it will be thick
Step 4
Pour into oiled 7x12 " pan (I used smaller pan).
Step 5
Combine topping ingredients, then sprinkle on cake.
Step 6
Bake in 325 degree oven 25 minutes( i did about 45- 50 minutes ).
Step 7
It says 15 big servings, I have my doubts, not even close.
