Step by Step Method

Step 1

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add in as many potatoes as you wish to make and cook them until they are fork-tender.

Step 2

On a sheet pan, generously drizzle olive oil. Place tender potatoes on the cookie sheet leaving plenty of room between each potato.

Step 3

With a potato masher, gently press down each potato until it slightly mashes, rotate the potato masher 90 degrees and mash again. Brush the tops of each crushed potato generously with more olive oil.

Step 4

Sprinkle potatoes with sea salt, freshly ground black pepper and your herbs or seasonings of choice.

Step 5

Bake in a 450 degree oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

I opted to use garlic, onion powder and rosemary on these potatoes as I was having them with lamb chops. So very good with great flavor inside and crisp outsides.

Loved the crispiness! DH was loving them, too! I used garlic infused olive oil to drizzle over the spuds!

We loved these little taters! I had fingerling potatoes, and I smashed them pretty flat with the bottom of a glass. I sprinkled some roasted garlic powder on them, too, but that is not needed. These little guys were crispy and Oh, so good! Delicious, and a keeper recipe!

First of all let me say, " I'm so sorry for the lateness of my review " I made this recipe last week to go with Salmon Patties and they didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. Except for using a Butter Flavored cooking spray instead of the Olive Oil the recipe was made as it was written. Before placing them in oven, they were sprayed ,and sprinkled with salt, pepper, garlic powder , & Smokey Paprika . Baked as directed . The outside tasted fine, but the inside was dry. If I knew how to keep them from drying out, I would consider trying them again Thank you for taking your time to post this recipe " Keep Smiling :) "
