"I love Sloppy Joes but was trying to think of a lighter version still loaded with flavour. This is what I came up with. I don't like them too sloppy but if you do just add add more sauce. This goes nicely with a plain green salad Italian dressing."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Lightly spray a non stick skillet with oil and brown the onion (about 6 minutes)

Step 2

Add turkey and cook over medium heat, breaking up any lumps, until the turkey is lightly browned and no longer pink.(about 6 minutes)

Step 3

Add red peppers, stir and cook for abour 3 minutes

Step 4

Mix together spaghetti sauce, worchestershire, chili powder, garlic and dijon mustard.

Step 5

Pour over the turkey mixture and simmer for another 10 minutes.

Step 6

Serve in the buns - add any condiments that you enjoy

This is a tasty turkey sloppy joe recipe hubby and I both enjoyed. I used jarred roasted red peppers in lieu of the red bell pepper and it worked perfectly. I topped the meat with cheddar cheese and it was YUMMY!!!!!

We did a delightful turkey trot with Bergy for supper tonight, delicious, quick and a lovely little tingle , i was out of chili powder so subed with Hungarian paprika, mmm good, added tomato slices, lettuce and parmesan flakes. A definate do again recipe!!
