"This recipe uses 8 ounce cans of tomato sauce and the cans are now 7 ounces each so it's going to be short 2 ounces. Make sure you rinse out the cans with a bit of water to ramp it up a little. They didn't bake the recipe but the school would have to hold temperature and it would effect the recipe so I did. 1 tablespoon of garlic powder is a lot start with, 1 teaspoon...add more if you like."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Brown lightly seasoned ground beef and drain oil.
Step 2
Add tomato sauce and garlic powder and mix well.
Step 3
Add cooked rice a little at a time and fold into hamburger mixture until rice is completely coated in tomato sauce.
Step 4
Taste the rice mixture and add salt, pepper and garlic powder to your taste.
Step 5
Pour into greased 9x13 pan.
Step 6
Poke holes in rice mixture and sprinkle cheddar cheese over rice ensuring that some of the cheese fills the holes.
Step 7
Cover.
Step 8
Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees F allowing cheese to completely melt, and is hot and bubbly.
