"With the holidays quickly coming up, I wanted to share some of my favorite recipe here on this site. I make a double amount of these because they go very fast. I also make the filling in advance and heat just before I stuff the shells, if you are unable to find phyllo cups mini tart shells will also be okay but not as good. "

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Arrange phyllo cups on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake 5-6 minutes. Remove from oven cool slightly.
Step 2
In a large skillet over medium heat oil or butter over medium-high heat. Add sausage meat, cayenne pepper onion and garlic. Cook until sausage is browned, about 10 minutes; drain grease, and add mushrooms. Stirring occasionally, cook 5 minutes more or until all liquid evaporates; remove from heat. Add/season with salt & pepper. Allow to cool.
Step 3
Fill each phyllo cup with 1 tablespoon of the sausage mixture, and top with about 1 tablespoon of shredded cheese. Bake in a preheated oven 8 minutes minutes, or until the cheese melts and the pastry is golden brown. Serve immediately.
