Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 (16 ounce) packages mini phyllo shells
  • 1 tablespoon oil or butter
  • 8 ounces bulk pork sausage (Jimmy Dean is what I use)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 pound mushrooms, stems removed and mushroom caps finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 (16 ounce) package shredded Italian cheese blend (Kraft)
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Arrange phyllo cups on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake 5-6 minutes. Remove from oven cool slightly.

  • Step 2: In a large skillet over medium heat oil or butter over medium-high heat. Add sausage meat, cayenne pepper onion and garlic. Cook until sausage is browned, about 10 minutes; drain grease, and add mushrooms. Stirring occasionally, cook 5 minutes more or until all liquid evaporates; remove from heat. Add/season with salt & pepper. Allow to cool.

  • Step 3: Fill each phyllo cup with 1 tablespoon of the sausage mixture, and top with about 1 tablespoon of shredded cheese. Bake in a preheated oven 8 minutes minutes, or until the cheese melts and the pastry is golden brown. Serve immediately.
