"A southern treatment of what we in the South call a "Northern Turnip". Bacon drippings are a common thing for me to have saved up. The only thing I do different from my mom and mother-in-law and grandmothers is to refrigerate mine. They just saved them in an old empty coffee can on the side of the stove. If your drippings are in the refrigerator, please bring them to room temperature before adding to the rutabagas."
