Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375. Meanwhile brown pork ribs in skillet over medium-high heat

Step 2

Place ribs in oven proof pan with lid and cover with sliced onions. Pour rootbeer over ribs/onions and cover baking pan or use foil to cover. Bake for 1.5 hours.

Step 3

Drain rootbeer (leave onions in the pan, they taste really yummy too! Cover pork with BBQ sauce and return to oven, uncovered this time, for 35-40 minutes until pork is well cooked.

This turned out so delicious...I cut the recipe in half and did cook it for less time in both phases...about 1 hour covered and 25 minutes uncovered and the meat was so tender...the root beer had cooked away so there was no need to drain it...I'm so glad I made this...I served it with a side of stuffing and corn...the hubby was doing the happy dance...this is going on my Best of 2022 list...made for "What's on the Menu" tag game...

Trust me when I say how good these ribs are! I made these on the grill for a crowd I had over the long weekend. They smelled so good while on the grill that I had all the kids begging me to take them off so they could try some. I doubled the sauce to feed our crowd and make sure we had enough, cause I knew they were gonna go fast! I can tell you that these will be enjoyed for many years to come!
