Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the red onions. Do not stir. Let the onions turn light brown, then turn and brown on the other side.

Step 3

When the onions are browned, add the balsamic vinegar and orange rind.

Step 4

Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the liquid is almost gone.

Step 5

Serve hot or room temperature as a condiment with meats.

Superlicious, Mikekey! I made these to go with chicken sausage, grilled cebollitas-onions and mashed potatoes. DH loved them, too. I bet they'd be great on beef, too.
