Step by Step Method
Step 1
In a large skillet over medium high; add butter, chipotle pepper, salt and pepper. Stir to combine. Add 3 cups of whole milk and onion powder; bring to a simmer over medium heat. Once milk starts bubbling add the dry macaroni. Allow to simmer for 4-5 minutes, until pasta is almost cooked though, stirring occasionally.
Step 2
Mix in broccoli and 8 ounces of cheddar cheese; bring back to a simmer and cook for 2 minutes.
Step 3
Meanwhile in a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons milk and 2 tablespoons of flour until smooth. Add to macaroni mixture. Cook until thickened.
Step 4
Sprinkle with remaining 4 ounces of cheddar cheese.
Step 5
Preheat oven to broil. Place skillet under broiler for 2-4 minutes until cheese is melted.
