"I love beer bread. I admit that I am not a big baker, I prefer cooking ... However, I love my bread maker and adore beer bread. Don't think beer bread is just a light beer, flour, sugar, salt and butter. You can use whole wheat flour, toasted nuts, dried and fresh herbs, dried onions red pepper flakes, dried vegetables (such as carrots and peppers), also dried fruits. And most importantly change up the BEER. Berry beer, pumpkin ale, a dark wheat beer, light summer fest, maple wheat, Bock, etc. There are tons of flavors available and all these flavors can change the flavor of the beer bread. A special thanks to Julie my friend who took many pictures for me at one of my catering event - this being one of them. This is the basic recipe, but as you can see I changed the beer, added a little seasoning, and I could of added some nuts; but I didn't for this; and the bread becomes completely something new. Delish! and have fun with different combinations."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Batter ... Mix the flour, sugar, beer and salt in a medium size bowl. Let it rest 5 minutes and mix again.

Step 2

Bake ... Spray a loaf pan with a non-stick spray and add the batter. Brush the top with 1 tablespoon of the melted butter. Bake in a 350 degree preheated oven on the middle shelf for 45-55 minutes. After 40 minutes, brush the top of the bread with the remaining butter.

Step 3

Insert a knife in the center of the bread and if it comes out clean ... the bread is done. Remove from the oven and cool 10-15 minutes before removing from the pan.

Step 4

Serve ... This can be served warm or cold, but also easily heated up in the microwave or in the toaster. Top with butter, jam, cream cheese or any of your favorites. This bread also makes wonderful sandwiches. You can really have fun with all the possible combinations. ENJOY!

Step 5

- A berry ale is great added with nuts and dried raising or cranberries or even some cinnamon for a breakfast bread. - Try a hearty bock with rosemary, swiss cheese and dried onion flakes. - Wheat with bacon bits, cheddar and onion. As you can see, tons of possibilities; these are just a few ideas.
