Step 1: Batter ... Mix the flour, sugar, beer and salt in a medium size bowl. Let it rest 5 minutes and mix again.
Step 2: Bake ... Spray a loaf pan with a non-stick spray and add the batter. Brush the top with 1 tablespoon of the melted butter. Bake in a 350 degree preheated oven on the middle shelf for 45-55 minutes. After 40 minutes, brush the top of the bread with the remaining butter.
Step 3: Insert a knife in the center of the bread and if it comes out clean ... the bread is done. Remove from the oven and cool 10-15 minutes before removing from the pan.
Step 4: Serve ... This can be served warm or cold, but also easily heated up in the microwave or in the toaster. Top with butter, jam, cream cheese or any of your favorites. This bread also makes wonderful sandwiches. You can really have fun with all the possible combinations. ENJOY!
Step 5: - A berry ale is great added with nuts and dried raising or cranberries or even some cinnamon for a breakfast bread. - Try a hearty bock with rosemary, swiss cheese and dried onion flakes. - Wheat with bacon bits, cheddar and onion. As you can see, tons of possibilities; these are just a few ideas.
