"Check the pie so it's done. The time is pretty short. Use 1/2 and 1/2 for some of the milk. In the 20's the milk was richer. Can use cinnamon instead of nutmeg if you wish."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 475 degrees F.

Step 2

Mix eggs, salt, vanilla and sugars.

Step 3

Temper the hot milk into it.

Step 4

Pour into pie shell.

Step 5

Sprinkle nutmeg on top.

Step 6

Bake for 10 minutes.

Step 7

Turn heat down to 425 for 15 minutes, until knife comes out clean.
