Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a heavy frying pan, heat the oil and add the bread crumbs, lemon zest, salt & pepper.

Step 2

Cook over medium heat, stirring often until the crumbs are crisp and light brown; set aside.

Step 3

Cook the pasta in salted boiling water.

Step 4

While it is cooking, heat the oil in a small, heavy saucepan.

Step 5

Add the garlic and chili flakes and cook until sizzling but not browned; remove from heat.

Step 6

Once the pasta is cooked al dente, remove a small cup of pasta water, and drain the pasta.

Step 7

Return pasta to the pot, and add the garlic, oil, and lemon juice.

Step 8

Mix well over medium heat until hot, adding a little pasta water if the mixture seems dry.

Step 9

Add the parsley, mix well and serve with the crispy bread crumbs on top.

Must admit I don’t normally get excited over pasta, but after tasting this recipe, I did! Simple and just good stuff. I cooked up about a pound of pasta where to half I added tomato sauce and to the other half I used for this dish and I can honestly say, this is the one that I and my daughters definitely preferred and a definite keeper. Thank you, Luvcookn, for sharing.

Very good light pasta dish. I did add some italian sausage and topped off with Parmesan. Delicious and enjoyed by all. Thanks for sharing!

I really like this. It's not heavy and it's flavorful. I put in 1/4 teaspoon red pepper. I used panko crumbs because they are course. Yummy!! I made this for Billboard Tag in the forums and for What's on the Menu? in the Food, Friends, and Fun forum on Tap A Talk. Try this.

A great pasta dish, one that looks as good as it tastes making it a company worthy meal! I used fettuccini as my pasta choice, so enjoyed. Into my recipe drawer for this one!
