  • When selecting the parsley and chives for the recipe, make sure to pick fresh herbs for the best flavor.
  • When chopping the onion and shallots, make sure to dice them finely to ensure even cooking.

  • Replace the parsley and chives with 1/4 cup of fresh dill and 1/4 cup of fresh thyme. The benefit of this substitution is that it adds a more complex and subtle flavor to the scones, while still providing a savory flavor.
  • Replace the yellow onion with 1/4 cup of diced red onion. The benefit of this substitution is that it adds a milder flavor and a milder color to the scones, while still providing a savory flavor.

Cheese & Onion Scones Replace the parsley and chives with grated cheese and increase the onion to 1 whole onion. Add an extra tablespoon of butter and an extra tablespoon of milk.

Roasted Asparagus with Parmesan: Roasted asparagus with Parmesan is a perfect side dish to the Parsley & Chive Scones. The light flavor of the asparagus pairs well with the savoury scones, and the Parmesan adds a delightful crunchy texture.

Cheesy Potato Gratin: Cheesy Potato Gratin is the perfect accompaniment to the Roasted Asparagus with Parmesan. The creamy, cheesy potatoes provide a delicious contrast to the crunchy asparagus, while the Parmesan adds a touch of salty flavor. The gratin also helps to balance out the lighter flavors of the Parsley & Chive Scones.

A nice change from our usual buttermilk biscuits (scones). Great flavor and easy to make. Great with a bowl of soup.
