Step by Step Method

Step 1

Season the steak with salt and pepper.

Step 2

To make the marinade, combine orange slices, onion, oregano, oil salt, and pepper in a large zipper-type plastic bag. Seal the bag and squeeze the ingredients to mix them and force juice out of orange slices.

Step 3

Add the steak and work marinade into meat with your hands. Marinate in refrigerator for 1-3 hours, or overnight.

Step 4

Preheat the grill.

Step 5

Take steak out of bag and discard marinade. Grill over medium-high heat for about 4 minutes on one side and 2-3 minutes on other side for medium-rare.

Step 6

Rest steak on cutting board for 5-10 minutes, tented with foil.

Step 7

Slice the steak on the diagonal and top with Chirmol (see link in description)

Five star as usual! We enjoyed this immensely. Did make a change to the recipe though by adding a TBLS of Grand Marnier for an added kick.

This was enjoyed by the hubby and I...I served it with your #recipe27002 although we both thought it was nice and tasty without the salsa...made for "Bill Board" tag game...

Another excellent recipe from Mikekey! Very easy to make and enjoyed by all, I let this marinate for a few hours and the flavours were just great. :) I had cut the steak in half and one half was medium rare and the other was blue rare (my favourite!). Both were very tender, which is not surprising due to the great cut of grilling meat and the marinade. Thanks!

Daily Inspiration

We made this grilled steak tonight for our dinner. I marinated the meat for 24 hours for optimum flavor. The meat came out really nice and tender. I didn't really pick up on the orange flavor very much, but definitely the oregano and onion. We sliced the meat on the diagonal and served the strips in a flour tortilla with salsa. We also had avocado slices, tomato, cheese and sour cream on the side. Guess we had our version of Central American fajitas. : ) Served alongside some baked sweet potatoes with butter, lime and cumin. Very delicious meal.

Really good! I used a pork tenderloin, but otherwise made no changes to the recipe. The citrus flavor shines. After grilling the pork until done it was thinly sliced and combined with a cabbage slaw to make street style tacos. Definitely a keeper! Thanks mikekey!

Very nice I didn't have a grill so I did it in the cast iron pan and I kept the onions and cooked them with my steak. Made for CQ 2017
