Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 to 2 pounds beef flank steak
  • Salt and pepper
  • FOR SALMUERA (MARINADE)
  • 2 oranges, whole (unpeeled, cut into this slices)
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, julienned
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons oil (vegetable oil)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Fresh ground black pepper, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Season the steak with salt and pepper.

  • Step 2: To make the marinade, combine orange slices, onion, oregano, oil salt, and pepper in a large zipper-type plastic bag. Seal the bag and squeeze the ingredients to mix them and force juice out of orange slices.

  • Step 3: Add the steak and work marinade into meat with your hands. Marinate in refrigerator for 1-3 hours, or overnight.

  • Step 4: Preheat the grill.

  • Step 5: Take steak out of bag and discard marinade. Grill over medium-high heat for about 4 minutes on one side and 2-3 minutes on other side for medium-rare.

  • Step 6: Rest steak on cutting board for 5-10 minutes, tented with foil.

  • Step 7: Slice the steak on the diagonal and top with Chirmol (see link in description)
