Step by Step Method

Step 1

Saute onions and carrots in oil in stock pot

Step 2

Add tomato paste, rinse out can with water and add to pot

Step 3

Add water and bay leaf

Step 4

Season to taste (they didn't have salt in recipe you do you)

Step 5

Add ham hock

Step 6

Simmer for 1 hour

Step 7

Add beans undrained simmer 30 more minutes

Step 8

Take out Bay leaf and debone hock

Step 9

Chop meat add back to pot

Step 10

Season to taste

Step 11

Last 5 minutes add sour cream don't boil
