Step by Step Method

Step 1

Bake pie shell at 425 degrees for 10 minutes, cool.

Step 2

Cream butter and sugar.

Step 3

Add salt, flour, lemon juice and peel, mix.

Step 4

In a seperate bowl beat egg yolks and add milk, blend well with sugar mixture.

Step 5

Beat egg whites until stiff, then fold into filling.

Step 6

Pour filling into partially baked pie shell and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until golden.

Step 7

Cake like mixture will be on top with a sauce on the bottom.
