"I have been making this sauce since I have been on my own, tweaking it as the years went by, to suit everyone’s taste. It is the easiest way to make pasta sauce and with no simmering mess on the stove-top. I am often asked for this recipe, but had never taken the time to write it down. So one day I got my daughter to jot down all the ingredients as I was making this sauce. I use the Unico brand pasta sauce as that is my preference, but go ahead and use your favourite sauce. So, here it is now. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. This sauce freezes very well. I guessed at the amount of servings as I never really measured how many people it serves."

Original is 10-12 servings

I made this wonderful spaghetti sauce and I'm happy I tried this out! I did not have the Pasta Sauce mentioned so I added simply "passsata di pomodoro" and I added lot of marjoam and basil from the garden. The addition of mushrooms (I fried them shortly in the skillet), green bell peppers and celery made this sauce thick and super tasty: and explosion of aromas. Thanks a lot for this great sauce My family (especially my DS) really appreciated this. I almost forgot: the long cooking time was not a problem as the preparation was quick and during backing I had time for other works! Thanks a lot Bea for offering your recipe!

Made for the FF&F What's on the Menu? Tag Game, this recipe makes a lot & that's exactly what I was after. I doubled the recipe & made it as written except for the addition of a generous amt of halved black olives that DH loves. The Plan: Altho just 2 of us, we now have several containers in our freezer that will mean 2 nights of meals as needed. Mission accomplished & a tasty mission it was. DH may love the olives, but I loved the generous amt of garlic.

Great sauce! I couldn't find the brand name sauce that you use so I just added in 2 T more of crushed garlic to make up for the garlic in the canned sauce. The addition of the celery and peppers was great and really enhanced the taste of the sauce. I served this over linguine and had garlic bread and salad to accompany it. This is a do again sauce!
