"A easy quick version of an Italian Love Cake, and you will love this cake! Im not against using cake mixes I think they come in handy for quick desserts and some brands taste great, I have my own chocolate cake recipe I use for fancy occasions, for this recipe a boxed works just fine and makes it quick and easy! This cake does not freeze well."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Prepare cake mix as directed on the box. Pour the batter into 9 x 13 x 2 inch greased baking dish. Set this aside.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, sugar, vanilla and eggs. Blend well. Spread the mixture evenly on top of the unbaked cake batter.
Step 3
Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes. Cool cake completely.
Step 4
In a bowl, beat the pudding mix and half and half until thickened. Fold in the whipped cream. Spread over cooled cake.
