Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 box (18 ounce) chocolate cake mix
  • 2 pints ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 box (4-serving size) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped (make sure you whip the cream until fairly stiff, instead of cream you can use an 8-ounce container Cool Whip, personaly I like real cream!)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Prepare cake mix as directed on the box. Pour the batter into 9 x 13 x 2 inch greased baking dish. Set this aside.

  • Step 2: In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, sugar, vanilla and eggs. Blend well. Spread the mixture evenly on top of the unbaked cake batter.

  • Step 3: Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes. Cool cake completely.

  • Step 4: In a bowl, beat the pudding mix and half and half until thickened. Fold in the whipped cream. Spread over cooled cake.
