OH YUM YUM!! Loved this version of oatmeal. My favorite oatmeal is steel cut and was so happy with the results. The addition of the the pear and maple toppings over it all makes the flavors come alive. So GOOD and so COMFORTING. Thanks so much, Dee, for sharing this absolutely delicious oatmeal. Made it for FYC.

I made a simplified version of this yummy breakfast. My pear was very ripe and very soft, so did not heat it. I had no 5-spice nor orange. I skipped the butter but served it with half & half b/c I made the oatmeal with water, not milk. Despite my shortcuts, this was delicious and hit the spot!

We had these for breakfast and they made a couple truckloads of food. I made two servings. I used some Bob's Red Mill. Wow this was good.
