"One of the favorite ways the Irish like their potatoes. To go even further try adding any of these: Leeks, peas, brown crisp fried onions. Instead of the green onions I added frozen peas after mashing the potatoes with hot milk then kept the potatoes hot. Looked and tasted great. You can make this recipe ahead and reheat in 350f oven covered with foil for about 30 minutes"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Boil the peeled potatoes until cooked about 20-25 minutes,

Step 2

Mix the green onions with the milk in a saucepan, bring slowly to a boil, simmer 3 minutes

Step 3

Mash the cooked potatoes adding the hot milk, watch how much milk you add because it will depend on the size of your potatoes how much you will need.

Step 4

Beat in the 4 tablespoons of butter

Step 5

Season with salt and pepper, add a tablespoon of butter on top and serve
