"Ikea gave the brits their meatball recipe .happy dance for the lockdown. happy dance.i have to put in American measurements so it will be close and we dont have double cream here so improvising .they used mashed or new boiled potatoes"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Combine beef and pork

And mix thoroughly to break up any lumps.

Add finely chopped onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg

Add milk and season well with salt and pepper.

2. Shape mixture into small, round balls. Place on a clean plate,

Cover and store in the fridge for 2 hours (to help them hold their shape whilst cooking).

In a frying pan, heat oil on medium heat. When hot

Gently add your meatballs and brown on all sides.

When browned

Add to an ovenproof dish and cover. Place in a hot oven 350 degrees

And cook for a further 30 minutes.

Check because this is going from Celsius to Fahrenheit.

Serve with cranberry or lingonberry sauce on side

Swedish cream sauce

In frying pan, melt butter.

Whisk in flour

And continue cooking, stirring continuously, for 2 minutes, allowing the flour to cook through.

Add vegetable stock and beef stock and continue to stir.

Add thick double cream, 2 teaspoons of soy sauce and 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard.( Add 2 tablespoons butter with heavy cream to make double cream)

My measurements might be a touch off it was all 150 ml of liquids each so just cook down a little longer.i have 3/4 cup for stocks and cream

Bring to a simmer and allow the sauce to thicken.

Continue to stir.

Pour over potatoes
