Honey Oatmeal Bread for the Bread Machine

"This bread recipe came off the back of a bag of bread flour. I found it to be so good, just a "tad sweet’, and its great toasted. Cook time is what is suggested on your ABM. For a softer crust, butter the crust of the bread and put in a plastic bag as soon as it comes out of the machine.I prefer using just the dough cycle on my machine and baking in the oven.If you use just the dough cycle, you'll need an extra hour rise time in a warm place( I use my oven). The long " PREP TIME " includes the second rise time.This recipe makes a 1 1/2 pound loaf. " Keep Smiling :)"

Step 1

Measure ingredients into bread machine in the order suggested by manufacturer.

Step 2

Select "light" baking mode,if available.

Step 3

If you like,you can use just the dough cycle on your machine and do the second rise for an hour in a warm place.

Step 4

Bake for 35 minutes, or until you hear a " hollow sound " when thumped.

Perfect bread! Wouldn't change a thing. I was a bit leery of the cinnamon, since we were having this with chicken soup, but it was just a hint of flavor and not overpowering. I am going to make another loaf over the holidays with more cinnamon, for toast. Might throw in a handful of dried cranberries, too. Thanks for a keeper.
