"This is a slightly tweaked version of my friend Heather's invention - probably the result of necessity since she lives in the "wilds" of Costa Rica! This makes your ordinary cup of Costa Rican 1820 coffee taste like a Starbucks Caramel Macchiato (after you mix it up). I suppose if you have half-and-half available where you live, it can be used in place of the heavy cream and milk combo. Oh-so-good on an afternoon where we've had four inches of rain already..."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Place all ingredients in a heavy saucepan and heat, stirring regularly, until it reaches a simmer.

Step 2

Let cool and store in a jar, refrigerated.

Yields 20 servings if using 2 tablespoons per serving. I use more - LOL!
