Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat the broiler.

Step 2

To prepare the loaves: combine first 8 ingredients (onion powder - ground beef. Divide mixture in half, form each half into a 6 x 3 inch loaf. Place each loaf on a broiler pan coated with cooking spray and broil 6-10 minutes on each side or until done. Sprinkle the loaves with red pepper and cut each loaf into 1/2 inch slices.

Step 3

To prepare sauce: place the cucumber and onion onto several layers of paper towels; cover with more paper towels and let stand for 5 minutes.

Step 4

Combine the cucumber mixture and the rest of the sauce ingredients (mint - yogurt).

Step 5

Divide meat slices evenly among the pitas; top each serving with 1/4 cup sauce.
