Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F.
Step 2
Butter a 13x9 inch baking pan.
Step 3
In a bowl combine the flour with next 6 dry ingredients; set aside.
Step 4
In a large bowl beat butter on high speed for 30 seconds. Add eggs, beat 2-3 minutes. Add sugar and applesauce, beat 2 minutes more. Beat in molasses until combined.
Step 5
Alternately mix in the flour mixture and the water, beating on low speed until just mixed.
Step 6
Spread the batter into pan.
Step 7
Bake 40 minutes or until a toothpick or cake tester comes out clean.
Step 8
Cool 30 minutes then dust with confectioners sugar
