"Garlicky, buttery ground beef and asparagus with whole wheat noodles. A green salad goes well with this dish. I always use fresh asparagus, so I don't know if this works with frozen or canned. Regular noodles can replace the whole wheat ones, and you can substitute other fresh veggies for asparagus (like green beans or snow peas)."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Cook whole wheat spaghetti according to package directions, adding the asparagus during the last two minutes of cooking; reserve two cups of salted pasta water before draining.
Step 2
Meanwhile, add the ground beef and onions to a skillet and cook until the meat is done, breaking up the chunks of meat with your spoon as you go. Drain grease from skillet, if necessary.
Step 3
Add butter to skillet and stir well.
Step 4
As soon as the butter melts, add the garlic, crushed red pepper flakes and beef bouillon granules and cook until the garlic is fragrant.
Step 5
Add the cooked whole wheat spaghetti and asparagus to the skillet and stir, adding in splashes of the reserved salted pasta water until the noodles and asparagus are evenly coated with the buttery sauce.
Step 6
Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper, to taste.
