We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook whole wheat spaghetti according to package directions, adding the asparagus during the last two minutes of cooking; reserve two cups of salted pasta water before draining.

  • Step 2: Meanwhile, add the ground beef and onions to a skillet and cook until the meat is done, breaking up the chunks of meat with your spoon as you go. Drain grease from skillet, if necessary.

  • Step 3: Add butter to skillet and stir well.

  • Step 4: As soon as the butter melts, add the garlic, crushed red pepper flakes and beef bouillon granules and cook until the garlic is fragrant.

  • Step 5: Add the cooked whole wheat spaghetti and asparagus to the skillet and stir, adding in splashes of the reserved salted pasta water until the noodles and asparagus are evenly coated with the buttery sauce.

  • Step 6: Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper, to taste.
