Step by Step Method

Step 1

Prepare grill or grill pan to medium high heat.

Step 2

Brush one side of each bread slice with melted butter.

Step 3

On a work surface lay the bread, buttered side down. Divide the cheese between 4 slices, then top with 1-2 slices tomato and onion; season with salt and pepper. Spread chutney over the remaining slices of bread, then place them chutney side down atop the sandwiches.

Step 4

Using a grill basket if desired, grill, turning once, until bread is toasted and the cheese is melted (3-5 minutes per side).

Made for the Billboard Tag Game - I made some chgs, but they were mostly variations. I used whole wheat sandwich bread, white cheddar, red onion & a very good mango chutney. I wanted the chutney flavor to be strong, so I put a sml dish of it on-the-side B4 I chowed down on lunch today. It was an easy-fix & delicious! Thx for sharing the recipe w/us. :-)

Delicious sandwich! I used oat and nuts bread and red onion, just because that is what I had on hand. Next time I will put cheese on both slices of bread, so the chutney won't soak the bread. I broke the sandwich when I turned it over. Of course if you use the recommended grill basket as the recipe says...that would have never happened.
