Step by Step Method

Step 1

Trim and wash the green beans and french-cut them (cutting them lengthwise then cut into two-inch pieces).

Step 2

Peel the garlic and smash adding a dash of salt.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil then add the garlic and stir for a minute until it starts to turn yellow.

Step 4

Add the green beans and water and cook for 20 minutes.

Step 5

Then add herbs and spice mix to taste.

Step 6

Continue cooking for 20 minutes more on medium heat until beans are done, stirring occasionally, and adding some water if necessary.

Step 7

Season to taste.
