"This is my favorite recipe for lemon bars, I'm sure there are others that are just as good but I have been making this recipe since I tryed it years ago, hope you enjoy, the crust is similar to shortbread"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

For the crust, Mix first 3 ingredients using a pastry blender or two knives, cut in butter as you would when making pie crust until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 2

Press crumb mixture into a 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 15-20 minutes.

Step 3

For filling; Combine all filling ingredients. Pour over crust and bake for 25 minutes at 350°F or until lightly golden on top. Sprinkle with powdered sugar when cool.

Engrossed

Great lemon bars, but the recipe is missing why the flour is divided. I compared it to another recipe here that is very similar, and figured out that 2 cups of the flour go into the crust and 1/4 cup goes into the filling. I used 1 tablespoon lemon zest plus some pure lemon extract in the filling. Made for the Billboard recipe tag game.
