Step 1

Soak beans overnight.

I cut the recipe in half and cooked it in the crock-pot...I didn't soak the beans but added all the ingredients and cooked the soup on high for 6 hours...the beans came out nice and tender along with all the veggies...I used fresh carrots and chopped leftover ham from Thanksgiving...both the hubby and I felt it lacked seasoning so added salt and Cajun seasoning for a yummy bowl of navy bean soup...made for "FYC" tag game...
