Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2

Butter or spray a 13x9x2 inch baking dish.

Step 3

Cook noodles according to directions; drain, rinse in cold water; drain well.

Step 4

In large skillet saute onions in butter until tender.

Step 5

Crumble beef and add to onions. Cook over medium heat until lightly browned.

Step 6

Combine soups, water, mayonnaise, chili sauce, salt and pepper and garlic powder. Stir into beef-onion mixture.

Step 7

Add cooked onions mixing well.

Step 8

Pour into prepared baking dish and sprinkle with bread crumbs.

Step 9

Bake covered with foil 35 minutes.

Step 10

Remove cover, bake 10 minutes longer

I cut this down to serve 6, so had to be creative with the soups. I still used a pound of meat. I used just one cream of mushroom and one vegetarian vegetable, but added a bit more mayo. We also put a bit of shredded cheese on top during the last 10 minutes of baking. Comfort food!
