Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 package (12 ounce) dry wide egg noodles
  • 1 (8 ounce) yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound ground beef (ground round)
  • 2 cans (10 3/4 ounces each) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted (Campbell's)
  • 1 can (10 3/4 ounce) vegetarian vegetable soup, undiluted (Campbell's condensed))
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.8 ounce dry breadcrumbs (fine breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Step 2: Butter or spray a 13x9x2 inch baking dish.

  • Step 3: Cook noodles according to directions; drain, rinse in cold water; drain well.

  • Step 4: In large skillet saute onions in butter until tender.

  • Step 5: Crumble beef and add to onions. Cook over medium heat until lightly browned.

  • Step 6: Combine soups, water, mayonnaise, chili sauce, salt and pepper and garlic powder. Stir into beef-onion mixture.

  • Step 7: Add cooked onions mixing well.

  • Step 8: Pour into prepared baking dish and sprinkle with bread crumbs.

  • Step 9: Bake covered with foil 35 minutes.

  • Step 10: Remove cover, bake 10 minutes longer
