Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Grease and lightly spray a large loaf pan or 5-6 small loaf pans.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder

In another bowl, beat the eggs, vanilla, almond extract, butter, and milk until well combined.

Gradually fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed.

Add the oil and sugar, and mix until smooth.

Then, stir in the poppy seeds.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan(s) and spread evenly.

For a large loaf pan, bake for 1 hour.

For smaller loaf pans, start checking for doneness at 45-50 minutes.

The bread is done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Let the bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then remove from the pan.

In a small saucepan, combine the orange juice, salt, sugar, almond extract, butter extract, and vanilla extract.

Heat over low heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is well combined (about 2-3 minutes).

Pour the warm glaze over the top of the bread while it’s still warm.

Allow the bread to cool for a few minutes, then slice.
