"This is a bit different than most chicken tortilla soups because of its creamy tomato-y base. I did not have bought tortilla chips so I cut corn tortillas into small strips and baked them until crispy."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a large saucepan, sauté onion and spices. Add the tomato & broth, bring to a boil.

Step 2

Add chicken. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir sour cream into soup. Serve with baked tortilla strips or crushed tortilla chips.

I made this today for lunch and it was delicious. I loved the spices used in this soup a lot. I am serving it to my family tomorrow night for dinner but was glad to get a bowl to myself!
