"Growing up this was my favorite chocolate cake. Its a very dense, moist cake, and so delicious! This recipe is correct, it doesn't contain the normal suspects when making a cake! Love it because everyone has these ingredients on hand!"

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°.
Step 2
Blend all ingredients together with a mixer.
Step 3
Pour into a greased 9x13 pan and bake for 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before icing.
Step 4
If you are using the icing: In a medium sauce pan, bring sugar, milk and butter to a boil, remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips. Stir until melted and blended well. You can add chopped nuts at this point if you want to use them. Ice the cooled cake.
