"This has been my recipe of choice for pound cake for more years than I care to admit to..if we want plain pound cake I just leave off the chocolate and adjust the flour. Hope you enjoy"

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Cream together the butter and shortening.
Step 2
Add sugar and cream well.
Step 3
Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each egg.
Step 4
Add vanilla.
Step 5
Sift all dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture alternately with the milk.
Step 6
Prepare 10-inch bundt pan, or tube pan of choice,and add mixture to pan.
Step 7
Place in oven, which has been preheated to 325 degrees F and bake for 80 minutes.
