Step 1: Cream together the butter and shortening.
Step 2: Add sugar and cream well.
Step 3: Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each egg.
Step 4: Add vanilla.
Step 5: Sift all dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture alternately with the milk.
Step 6: Prepare 10-inch bundt pan, or tube pan of choice,and add mixture to pan.
Step 7: Place in oven, which has been preheated to 325 degrees F and bake for 80 minutes.
