Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Cream shortening

Add 1 cup sugar

Alternately with milk that you have mixed vanilla in

Beat egg whites stiff, then beat in rest of sugar to the egg whites.

Fold into batter

Pour evenly into cake pans

Bake in two layer tins, 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees.
