  • For the best flavor, use freshly squeezed lime juice.
  • Choose ripe nectarines, peaches, or mangoes for the best flavor and texture.

  • Instead of nectarines, use peaches or mango. The benefit of this substitution is that peaches and mango are both sweeter than nectarines, so they will add a more tropical flavor to the salad.
  • Instead of vegetable oil, use olive oil. The benefit of this substitution is that olive oil is a healthier option and has a more distinct flavor that will enhance the overall taste of the salad.

Asian-Inspired Shrimp & Nectarine Salad Replace the lime juice in the dressing with rice vinegar, replace the honey with brown sugar, and replace the hot pepper sauce with soy sauce. Replace the basil with cilantro, and add 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil to the dressing. Serve over Asian-style noodles instead of salad greens.

Coconut Rice with Pineapple: A sweet and savory side dish that complements the Caribbean flavors of the shrimp and nectarine salad. The coconut rice and pineapple add a tropical twist that will make the meal complete.

Grilled Plantains: Grilled plantains are a sweet and delicious accompaniment to the shrimp and nectarine salad. The caramelized sweetness of the grilled plantains will complement the tropical flavors of the coconut rice and pineapple, while adding a unique texture to the meal.
