Step 1

In a large pot, brown the ground beef, Italian sausage meat with onion and garlic.

Step 2

Stir in chopped cabbage and let cook until slightly softened (about 3 minutes).

Step 3

Add all remaining ingredients, bring to a boil and reduced heat to medium low. Cover and simmer on low until rice is fully cooked (about 25-30 minutes)

Step 4

Remove bay leaf and serve.

No special items needed.



This soup is great -- it also makes a lot! I skipped the ground beef and used 1 pound of Italian sausage meat and also skipped the worcestershire sauce. This makes a large pot so we froze a few servings and we will be having this wonderful soup for lunches during the week. Thanks for sharing!
