Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350º.
Step 2
Butter an ovenproof baking dish.
Step 3
Arrange sweet potato slices in the prepared dish, and season with salt and pepper.
Step 4
In a lg saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, bourbon and syrup and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Step 5
As soon as the sauce is boiling, pour it over the potatoes.
Step 6
Bake the casserole, basting and turning the potatoes occasionally, until they are soft and tender, 45-60 minutes.
Step 7
Taste and adjust for seasoning with salt & pepper.
