"My mother had looked for years for a cobbler recipe she like when she found this recipe that my cousin had. It is full of fruit and has just the right amount of batter to fruit ratio. It is an old fashioned recipe. use a pan with high sides- Mom used a roasting pan"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Grease 11x7 pan- High sided pan like a roaster. Sprinkle berries over bottom drizzle with lemon juice.

Step 2

In a large bowl combine 3/4 cup sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and butter. Add milk. Mix to just blend.

Step 3

Spread mixture over berries.

Step 4

Combine 1 cup sgar and cornstarch. Sprinkle over batter.

Step 5

Pour Boiling water over top.

Step 6

Bake 350 degrees 45-50 minutes or berry sauce bubbling around edges. Top golden.

Step 7

Serve warm with Whipping Cream or Ice cream.

Step 8

Mom's Pan was 10 1/2 x 7 3/4 x 2 1/4 inches deep.
