Step 1: Grease 11x7 pan- High sided pan like a roaster. Sprinkle berries over bottom drizzle with lemon juice.
Step 2: In a large bowl combine 3/4 cup sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and butter. Add milk. Mix to just blend.
Step 3: Spread mixture over berries.
Step 4: Combine 1 cup sgar and cornstarch. Sprinkle over batter.
Step 5: Pour Boiling water over top.
Step 6: Bake 350 degrees 45-50 minutes or berry sauce bubbling around edges. Top golden.
Step 7: Serve warm with Whipping Cream or Ice cream.
Step 8: Mom's Pan was 10 1/2 x 7 3/4 x 2 1/4 inches deep.
